Special nature reservation Carska Bara

The special nature reservation, habitat of hundreds of rare plants and animal species, can be visited both by boat and on foot.

The reserve protected by UNESCO lies 10 kilometres south of Zrenjanin, between the Tisa and Begej rivers. Carska Bara, lying on 4726 hectares, impresses all its visitors with its flora and fauna. There are 240 rare bird species, 24 species of fish and more than 500 species of plants living in this unique marsh. In addition to boat and hiking tours, the interested may take part in birdwatching and photo safaris as well. Carska Bara is part of the Ramsar Convention, IBA and IPA Europe projects. There is also the possibility of fishing and sport fishing or hunting outside the area of the reserve.
