The municipality of Subotica is located in the North Bačka District and shares a border with Hungary, thus containing three border crossings: at Bački Vinogradi, Kelebija, and Bajmok. The E75 motorway and international railroad both cross the municipality. Subotica is the region's "Art Nouveau capital", since the city contains the most buildings in Vojvodina built in the style of Hungarian secession, such as the City Hall, Synagogue, and Raichle Palace. Subotica's main square's most iconic feature - besides the Town Hall - is the Blue fountain. The municipality features several Hungarian and Serbian theaters and museums which showcase the region's rich cultural life.
