City Museum of Novi Sad

The City Museum of Novi Sad collects, preserves and exhibits the multi-ethnic cultural heritage of Novi Sad and the surrounding region.

The City Museum of Novi Sad is located in an 18th century baroque building in Petrovaradin. It was founded in 1954 based on the materials of the Museum of Vojvodina's "Novi Sad in ancient days and now" exhibition. The museum is primarily concerned with the city's history, its past (ancient and medieval times) from the first time it was mentioned (1692) and up till today. It has a rich collection of archaeological, historical, ethnographic, artistic and artisanal items. The number of exhibited items (including those in the library) is over 46,000.
