The town and municipality of Senta is located in Bačka, on the right side of the Tisza river, 42 kilometers south of the Serbian-Hungarian border. It is one of the oldest settlements in Vojvodina and the most important cultural center of the region's Hungarian population. The Town Hall is a secession style (Art Nouveau) building facing the main square and remains an emblematic part of the townscape. Noteworthy local events include the Tiszavirág festival (Tisza Blooming aka. Mayfly festival) and the series of celebrations commemorating the Battle of Senta.
