Plandište

Plandište

Plandište is a town and municipality in the South Banat District near the Romanian border. Its Hungarian name (Zichyfalva) was given as a tribute to Count Ferencz Zichy. Its main attraction is its Roman Catholic church built in 1812. The Damaskin castle, a truly compelling neoclassical building, is located in this municipality. Its court contains a small lake and is surrounded by a forest. The municipality also has a hunting area.
